Sitecore Business Optimization Strategies Expansion

There’s little need for an introduction to Sitecore. As one of the most prominent leaders in digital experience management software, Sitecore is known for its ability to combine content management, commerce, and customer insights. The company has developed Sitecore Business Optimization Strategies (SBOS™) to help better support its customers and implementation partners through their digital transformation. The team’s goal is to help their clients get the most out of their platform and guide them on their ‘digital maturity journey’.

Sitecore recently announced the expansion of the SBOS team, appointing industry veteran, Vijayanta Gupta, as Vice President of Strategy & Industries. He imparts a broad experience and knowledge, having worked with Adobe, Accenture, Microsoft, and Tata Consultancy Services. The company is looking to expand key resources and further develop expertise in industries like B2B, financial services, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail.

According to Vijayanta, SBOS was born out of a need. The concept of the customer and digital experience transformation is evolving continuously in a world where digital speed matters. Clients embarking on a transformation journey can find the process to be overwhelming, and the SBOS team aims to help them and their partners get ready, plan, and successfully complete that journey. At the core of SBOS is value engineering (VE). Being focused on identifying the business driver that a client is going to benefit from when engaging with their software, identifying realistic outcomes based on actual client work, and providing advice in a language the client understands is the bedrock of SBOS.

SBOS goes beyond merely offering technology and software. They provide a service. Their new approach involves them further enhancing and refining that service by affording specialized guidance that is tailored to each vertical. Vijayanta described the SBOS team structure as being composed of three key capabilities: industry expertise, SBOS methodology, and value engineering. The uniquely blended team approach allows for Sitecore to offer a truly personalized service to each client that is developed upon their size, needs, and industry — clients like Herschend Family Entertainment, whose team worked with SBOS to establish and realize their digital transformation goals.

“Every brand, irrespective of their size and industry, needs to take a personalized digital-first approach to remain relevant to their customers and to become hyper-competitive within their industries,” said Vijayanta. He added, “SBOS is at the heart of this critical business transformation process, guiding clients to lead in their industries.”

New updates include a revamped, soon to be launched, Digital Customer Experience Maturity Model® that has been adjusted to reflect the realities of today’s experience transformation needs. Through their unified teams and top-level framing guidance, SBOS is expanding its methodologies, enhancing processes, tools, and outputs—all in a centralized place—to help expedite business value realization.

In a few sentences, can you sum up what the Sitecore SBOS is all about? How is it different from the other services Sitecore already has to offer?

The Sitecore Business Optimization Strategies team is focused on working with our customers and their implementation partners to maximize the value they get from the Sitecore technologies. To support the team, the SBOS academy is a curriculum of DIY resources, guides, and best practices gathered from hundreds of case studies, updated regularly. Sitecore’s SBOS differs from our other support services because of the availability of a dedicated expert team, engaging with clients and partners in pre- and post- sales initiatives. We are also constantly working to bring high-level talent to SBOS and increasing the volume of vertical industry-specific resources.

What were the reasons behind SBOS? What drove Sitecore to develop and expand this program?

Our clients, prospects, and partners continue to ask for our guidance to ensure that they get the most out of their current or potential investments in Sitecore. SBOS helps by ensuring that we are investing in our clients’ and partners’ success by synthesizing best practices and actionable guidance for them.

How does the SBOS give Sitecore a competitive advantage?

A digital experience transformation is not one-size-fits-all, and every company will have a different journey towards a digital-first culture that allows them to build long-term relationships with their customers. Sitecore’s SBOS programs support customers and partners through every step of the way, from assessing the organization’s maturity in personalization, to building a digital roadmap, and optimizing the impact of the martech stack.”

What industries and sectors do you see benefiting most from working with Sitecore SBOS?

Any organization in need of support in building out and supporting their digital marketing strategy can benefit from SBOS. However, we are especially focused on establishing a robust set of resources that will support the following industries: business-to-business, financial services, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail.”

Sitecore remains strongly partner-centric. By working closely with their integration partners, methodologies continue to be developed and employed through mutual collaboration. SBOS’s creation and growth are due to the synergy that Sitecore has with its partners. The shared objective is always to work jointly to deliver the best possible results for their clients.
