American consumers spent a healthy $25 billion via mobile transactions during 2012, an 81% rise from the previous year, and by 2016 that figure is expected to reach 27%, or $87 billion.  And while $25 billion may sound a lot, it's a fraction of overall e-commerce sales in 2012 - 11% to be more precise.

Be it reloading your Starbucks card or buying off of eBay, it is easy, fast and convenient (and often makes users spend more). But companies succeed only if they implement the mCommerce strategy wisely. Delivering to your customers what they want, when they want and how they want is often what works. It has never been easier to get in front of your customers from pretty much anywhere in the world, and seizing this opportunity gets many businesses ahead of the others.

We had our special guest, Gabe Sumner, Product Manager at Sitefinity, share his thoughts and comments on the mobile and social eCommerce that has found its place in the online marketplace. One of the many great points Gabe made was to utilize the social and mobile commerce – with great responsive designs and integrity in the social commerce space. Gabe also shared a great article by Forrester Analyst, David Aponovich and Michael Facemire that outlines the lack of vendor support in the mobile space. It’s worth checking out.

Scott Liewehr and Tyler Pyburn discussed some top news stories from our industry including:

IT Services market has the worst year since 2002

HP Board Avoids the Axe .. For Now

Marketers Need a Customer Journey Strategy

We had Bryan Ruby of CMS Report join us this month again to do a review of MODx which was very informative. One of the getaways of his review is that if you love HTML and CSS, MODx might just be the right CMS for you. This cloud-based Web Content Management system offers a lot of flexibility to its developers and users. Make sure you check it out.

Last but not the least, Scott Liewehr did a great job in the Rapid Fire Segment and tackled fiery topics including:

RSG Warns against CXM Suites

Consumer suspicious of Social Media

We had some great tweets going on throughout the show and our expert’ insights made the show all the more successful and enjoyable. If you missed the show, you can watch it on-demand HERE once we upload it. We look forward to sharing it with you.

We encourage you to share with us any comments or questions you may have.
